Technique Specifications:
1. Reactor Volume (plastic): 4.000 liters
2. Gas Container Volume (plastic): 2.500 liters
3. Biogas Stove: 1 piece
4. Mixing Materials Drum: 1 piece
5. Gas Safety: 1 piece
6. Gas Hose: + 10 meters
7. Basic Materials Needs: cattle dung from 2-3 cows/buffalos, or 6 pigs
8. Biogas Produced: 4m3 per day (equivalent with 2, 5 liters of kerosene)
Preparation for Installing Biogas Reactor
1. Making a reactor hole, length = 4 m, width = 1,1 m, depth = 1,2 m.
2. Making plastic tube table as a gas container: (diameter 1,2 m) length = 3 m, width =1,2m
3. Cow dung (fases) firstly is about 100 sacks (100 sacks = 2000 lt). This beginning preparation is to fasten gas production which is ready to use (to lit up)
4. Drum as a mixing container of dung (fases) with water (1:1) ; 1 piece (200 liters)
5. Sack as fases residuee container of biogas production process
6. Wood or bamboo as fence, in order to save the reactor from the other cattle or other disturbances
7. Sheet or other materials as reactor roof to avoid from raining or other materials fall from above
How to Operate Biogas Reactor in Domestic Scale
• Mix the dung with water by comparision of 1 : 1 (biogas materials)
• Put the biogas materials into the reactor through the filling container for about 2000 liters, next there will be biogas production process inside the reactor
• After for about 10 days, biogas reactor and biogas container will be puff up and harden because there is biogas produced inside. Biogas can be used as fuel and biogas stove can be operated
• Occasionally stir the biogas reactor to produce a perfect decomposition and the produced gas in the bottom can rise up. Do it also in every reactor filling process
• The next biogas materials’ filling can be done everyday, which is for about + 40 liters every morning and evening. The residue of biogas process is sludge which automatically exit from the reactor when the biogas filling done. The residue of biogas process can be used directly as organic fertilizer, both in wet and dry condition
The Maintenance and Treatment of Biogas Reactor
1. Avoid the reactor from children, irresponsible hand, or cattle which can destroy the reactor by fencing and riffing so that the water cannot get inside the reactor
2. Always fill the gas safety with water fully. Do not let it empty because the gas produced can be wasted through the gas safety
3. If the reactor seems tightening because of the gas existence but the gas do not fill the gas container, then straighten the hose from the gas safety to the reactor because steam inside the hose can impede the gas flow to the gas container. Do this as a regular checking.
4. Avoid the entering water into the reactor by closing the filling container when there is no reactor filling.
5. Give the ballast above the gas container (such as ex-sack) to give pressure when using
6. Clean the stove from dirt or oil when cooking
The Excellent of Biogas Reactor in Domestic Scale
1. Simple construction, easy, and fast installation (no more than 1 day)
2. Reachable prize, for about Rp 2,5 million (installation and one unit of biogas stove included)
3. Long lasting, using special plastic so its lifetime up to 6 years
4. Easy in maintenance and use
5. Gas Production is equivalent with 2,5 liters kerosene/day, more than enough to be cooking fuel
6. Produce compos (organic fertilizer) in good quality and can be directly used in agricultural cultivation
