The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources have opened out a socialization event titled “Introduction of the new Electricity Law”, held at the department on Tuesday (15/9).

During his opening speech, the Minister explains that this Electricity Law may be socialized 7 days after the law is issued by the House of Representatives on September 8, although in fact it has been socialized parallel with the plenary meeting of Commission VII.

The Head of Legal and Public Relations, Sutisna Prawira explains that this event is aimed at introducing the Electricity Law to prepare for the socialization of the law, explaining the main points of the law, and receiving inputs on government regulations to support the law.

The Minister further explains that the government have completed 5 new laws on the energy and mineral resource sector, consisting of Oil and Gas Law, Geothermal Law, Energy Law, Mineral and Coal Law, and the Electricity Law. “We have completed a set of laws to support the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources policies in the future” describes the Minister.

This event also included a speech by the Director General of Electricity and Energy Utilization J. Purwono, Vice Chairman of Commission VII Sonny Keraf, and the Director of PT PLN’s Java-Bali operations Murtaqi Syamsudin, and moderated by the Expert Staff for Socialization and Institution Teguh Pamudji.
