JAKARTA. The Chief Director of PT PLN, Dahlan Iskan, in the signing of MoU with PT Angkasa Pura II related to maintenance system of electricity supply in airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II), stated that two PLTU (Lontar and Indramayu) will be operated soon and support reliability of Jakarta’s electricity and surroundings. This statement was stated in his speech in front of BUMN State Minister, Mustafa Abubakar.
“We have talked to the number one person contractor who handle Lontar PLTU project (2x300 Mw), Indramayu and Rembang, to finish the third project of PLTU as soon as possible because PLN has special planning towards this third project more than the other 10.000 MW acceleration projects.
PLTU Lontar will support the reliability of electricity supply of PLTU Muara Karang, so if disturbance in PLTU Muara Karang happened, its function could be changed soon by PLTU Lontar. “We will complete PLTU Lontar with 150 Kv networking. So, Lontar generator do not need to enter into the 500 Kv networking, but directly enter 150 Kv networking and also directly enter Jakarta through Cengkareng,” says Dahlan.
“Cengkareng substation has been ready, so Cengkareng and Jakarta’s reliability will increase,” he explains.
Dahlan also added that the entering of PLTU Lontar into PLTU Muara Karang and PLTU Indramayu into PLTGU Tanjung Priok, not only add the reliability of electricity system but also decrease the fuel consumption of generator. “If 600 Mw enters from PLTU Lontar, so we will shutdown PLTU Muara Karang, which uses fuel, in certain time, so does in PLTU Indramayu towards PLTGU Priok.”
PLTU Lontar (2x300 Mw), PLTU Indramayu (3x330 Mw) and PLTU Rembang (2x350 Mw) are part of 10.000 Mw acceleration project stage I to improve electricity supply along with the increase of citizens’ needs and also to support energy diversification by utilization of coal as generator fuel. The basic law of this program is Presidential Regulation No. 71, 2006 about the assignment for PT. PLN to do accelerated development of electricity generator by using coal as fuel. (AK)
