PLN, Special Services for Zero Tolerance Disturbances

JAKARTA. Improving services to the consumers, PT. PLN offers a stratified system of electricity supply which able to guarantee electricity supply without any tolerance to any disturbance (zero disturbance). This special services offered by PLN consist of four layers, from supervision to whole consumers’ electricity system.

The chief director of PLN, Dahlan Iskan, explained that special service of zero tolerance disturbance offered by PLN is accordance with the MoU signing between PT PLN with PT Angkasa Pura II last Wednesday (8/25). This first level cooperation, PLN only supervise (as a consultant), while the more job is done by consumers. However, PLN still help checking and consulting. In the second stage, PLN’s responsibility is only for substation (GI) and in this cooperation stage, PLN will guarantee GI free from disturbance. For the third cooperation stage, PLN’s responsibility is up to medium voltage networking which enters the consumer’s trafo (voltage regulator) and in the fourth stage; the whole electricity system will be handled by PLN.

By this special service, PLN will try some efforts to improve the reliability of electricity supply. The state’s palace and DPR/MPR building have done this cooperation service for some years and it has been proven that by having this service there is no disturbance happen. “The state’s palace and DPR have done cooperation with PT PLN up to the third stage,” says Dahlan Iskan.
 
About the tariff implemented to this service, Dahlan said that the tariff differs slightly with industrial consumer, “It is a little bit higher, Rp 100, - higher that industry,” he says.

Besides PT Angkasa Pura II (AP2) and PT Semen Gresik, some industrial institutions in Bekasi, West Java, which generally Japanese entrepreneurs have requested this special service because they concern with the damage caused by machine because of instability of electricity supply. (AK)
