The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Purnomo Yusgiantoro has received the visit of Henan Province Governor, Guo Gengmao and his delegation on Tuesday (25/8).  Also present accompanying the Minister during the meeting, which was held at the minister workroom, were his expert staffs.

The Minister welcomed the visit of Governor Guo Gengmao who is intending on introducing the energy and mineral resources potential of Henan Province.  Likewise, the Minister also introduced Indonesia’s potentials to the Governor in order to attract investors from both parties.

Several Henan based companies have previously invested in Indonesia, including Zhenghou Yongtong Special Steel Corporation which has built a steel factory specializing in the manufacture of local raw materials in South Kalimantan thrugh PT Mandan Steel.

Hanan is one of China’s richest province, in terms of natural and mineral resources, including 127 out of 150 types of mineral in existence.  Several products from Henan include coal, oil, gas, bauxite, gold, and silver.

Aside from mineral, Henan is also the largest producer of farming products in China, with products ranging from wheat, cotton, and tobacco.  Due to the abundant resource available, a centralized industrial system is currently being built in Henan, including heavy machinery, electronics, coal mining, power plants, crude oil, chemical industry, metallurgy, and textile.  This development has put Henan as one of the major center of China’s industry, transport, and communication sectors.
