JAKARTA – Minister of EMR, Jero Wacik affirmed that BBM and industry gas need facing Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitri 1433H are secure. The minister stated after giving speech in the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of BPMigas, Monday (16/7/2012). 

“BBM (oil fuels) for Lebaran, generally Pertamina has stated its readiness to me both for subsidized and non-subsidized BBM. So I ask people to be calm, just buy the non-subsidized BBM if the subsidized runs out, so they do not have to be worried in celebrating Lebaran,” said the minister.

Related to the gas availability for industrial fuel, the minister stated,”Gas for industry has also been prepared, so there won’t be any price increase before Lebaran. We will increase the gas price after Lebaran (September).”

Ministry of EMR by the support of PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT PLN (Persero) will supervise and observe the availability of BBM, gas and electricity by forming a Lebaran Post. As being done the years before, the Lebaran Post of MEMR consists of Fuel Post, Electricity Post, and Geological Post. In ministerial level, the post is centered in General Affair Bureau, Secretary General of MEMR, while for Fuel Post is perfomed by BPH Migas Task Force and Pertamina Task Force. For the Electricity Post is performed by PLN Task Force, while Geological Post is by Geological Agency Task Force.

MEMR will also monitor geological hazard mitigation such as volcano eruption, earthquake, tsunami, and form Geological Hazard Emergency Response Group, which will respond fast every disaster happened and will 24 hours stanby. MEMR will also monitor some active volcanoes, which oftenly become the tourist destinations, carefully starting from H-15 up to H+15 in MEMR Crisis Center and the Center for Vulcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG).
