JAKARTA. The construction of gas distribution system for domestic is one of national priotity program, which is meant for energy diversification, subsidy decrease, clean and cheaper energy supply, and also a complementary program for kerosene to LPG conversion to hasten the decrease of oil consumption. Natural gas utilization to decrease oil consumption causes directly towards subsidy amount.
 
The government builds the infrastructure of gas system for domestic because enterprise is not interested to build due to the minimum benefits in its maintenance. In the future, local government is hoped to participate and realize it becoming city gas. The construction of gas distribution system for domestic would be built in cities or areas close to natural gas resources and having natural gas transmission system.

Here is the roadmap of natural gas distribution system construction for domestic in 2008 – 2014 made by the government:
 
2008, the government finished FEED and DEDC natural gas system for domestic in Blora District, Palembang, Bekasi, Depok, Surabaya and Medan.
 
2009, the government finished FEED and DEDC for Tarakan and Sidoarjo and started building gas system in Palembang and Surabaya. In Palembang was built in Siring Agung Village and Lorok Pakjo with 3.310 house connection. Meanwhile for Surabaya was built in Kalirungkut Village and Rungkut Kidul with its house connection reached 2.900 connections. Gas supply for Palembang came from PT Medco E&P Indonesia, while for Surabaya supplied by PT Lapindo Brantas.
 
Next in 2010, the government finished FEED and DEDC for Jabodetabek flats, Bontang and Sengkang, South Sulawesi and built natural gas distribution system for domestic in Tarakan, Bekasi, Depok and Sidoarjo District. For Tarakan was built in Karang Balik Village and Sebengkok with its house connection reached 3.366 connections. In Bekasi was built in Perumnas Bojong Rawalumbu with its house connection reached 1.800 connections. In Depok was built in Beji Village and East Beji with its house connection reached 4.000 connections. Meanwhile for Sidoarjo was built in Ngingas and Wedoro Village with its house connection reached 4.000 connections.
 
Natural gas distribution system for domestic in 2011 finished FEED and DEDC for Prabumulih, Jambi, Cibinong, Cirebon and Kaligawir and also built gas system in Bontang, Sengkang, Jabodetabek flats, Bekasi Stage II and Sidoarjo Stage II for 25.000 connections. For Bontang will be built in Gunung Elai Village, Api-api for 4.000 connections. While for Sengkang was built in Lapongkoda, Siengkang, Madukeleng, Bulu Pabulu, Atakae and Lempa for 4.000 connections.

For Jabodetabek flats was built in 24 flats with its house connection reached 11.000 connections. In Bekasi Stage II was built in Perumnas Bojong Rawalumbu for 2.200 connections and Sidoarjo Stage II in Tambaksawah, Medaeng for 5.000 connections.
 
This year 2012, the government plans to finish FEED and DEDC for Sorong, Balikpapan, Subang, Lhokseumawe, Semarang and Cilacap and also would build gas system for Prabumulih, Jambi, Cibinong, Cirebon and Kaligawir.
 
Finishing FEED and DEDC for Samarinda, Muara Enin, Lampung and Pekanbaru and also build gas system for domestic in Sorong, Balikpapan, Subang, Lhokseumawe, Semarang and Cilacap are government plans by 2013.

The next plan is by 2014 the government would finish FEED and DEDC for four areas (Cilegon, Tenggarong, Nunukan and Blora) and also build gas system for Samarinda, Muara Enin, Lampung and Pekanbaru. (AK)
