JAKARTA. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jero Wacik asked Indonesian to support the government and DPR reviewing and trying the best way in controlling subsidized BBM. This was stated by Minister of EMR in Jakarta when responding some developed options concerning subsidized BBM controlling.

“Basically, the government does not meant to increase the price of subsidized BBM because based on Law APBN 2012 forbids to increase the price,” says minister in presentation of 100 days work in Jakarta (26/01/2012).

However, if some citizens chose BBM price increase, then the government is opened and would discuss in the meeting with DPR. The Minister stated that the government would find the best way for Indonesian. Recently, BBM restriction has been started step by step because this would save subsidy in the future. 

Based on Law APBN 2012, the government has two options for black-platted four-wheeled vehicles such as consuming pertamax or converting to use gas. Based on the options, the government prepares the implementation of subsidized BBM restriction.

According to the minister, the government recently has prepares roadmap of subsidized BBM restriction including pipelines construction of trans-Java to ease its gas regulation. (AK)
