JAKARTA. PT Pertamina (Persero) planned to acquire two giant oil field in Iraq. The President Director of Pertamina, Karen Agustiawan stated that his side is getting close to the manager of five oil fields in Iraq.
“There are two giant oil fields becoming our target, those which production total potency of 2, 5 million barrel per day and 1, 8 million barrel per day,” said Karen after the signing of MoU in energy sector between Indonesia-Iraq in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/6/2012).
According to Karen, the wanted acquisition portion of Pertamina is only for 10 %. She said that if the acquisition of both oil fields is 10 %, then there will be addition production approximately 430 million barrel per day.
“Pertamina has stated its willing to Iraqi Government and they welcomed it well and suggested to Pertamina to held B to B discussion to related operators,” she said.
She explained that if B to B discussion has reached an agreement, then they will regulate more detail about the system and devastation based on suggestion and license of Iraqi Government. Pertamina has also been discussed with operators in those five fields; Exxon, BP, Shell, Lup Oil, ENI.
“We will target to those five fields, if possible,” said Karen. (AK)
