JAKARTA – The President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono emphasized the gas priority to fulfill domestic needs. The President stated that in the President Working Visit and Limited Cabinet Meeting EMR Sector in Central Office of Pertamina, Jakarta, Tuesday (7/8/2012).
“Indonesia appreciates the norm and international cooperation values. However, along with the increase of domestic energy needs, Indonesia will prioritize domestic needs,” said the President in press conference, accompanied by the Vice President Budiono, Minister of EMR Jero Wacik, The President Director of PLN and Pertamina.
SBY stated that twenty years ago, the gas orientation (LNG) is for export. But, national needs are so large along with the better national economic growth.
“So, the will be-decided policy is to develop all potencies, build distribution infrastructures, and prioritize domestic consumption,” said the President.
According to him, for some fields have succeeded to renegotiate, so the domestic portion is bigger. “There has been Tangguh Field production distributed in Indonesia in 2012-2013 and the development of train 3, 40% are for domestic,” he said. (AK)
