DWP of Ministry of EMR Gives Social Assistances for Impacted Residents of Mount Agung Eruption

KARANGASEM - Dharma Wanita Unity (DWP) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) provides symbolic social assistance to the people affected by Mount Agung eruption. The social event was held at Balai Masyarakat Desa Padang Bai, Manggis Sub-district, Karangasem Regency, Bali Province, Tuesday (2/1).

"We bring wheelchairs, may be used for the elderly (aged), we also bring milk for pregnant women and children, dry food, and toiletries .. Hopefully according to the needs of Mr and Mrs here," said Coach of DWP Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Ratnawati Jonan.

"I also order that pregnant women should not get sick, the children must be complete vaccines Milk for children do not get left behind, mothers do not get sick, because these mothers are household poles," continued Ratna.

Social assistance is submitted to the Regent Karangasem Ratna I Gusti Ayu Mas Sumatri. To the refugees, Sumatri advised to be patient because the status of Mount Agung is still Beware. "Ash rain, gravel and sand rain are still there, we hope all (residents) are still in refugee camps," Sumatri said.

According to Sumatri, there are 115 refugee points for 71,000 people affected by Mount Agung eruption. "In Karangasem alone there are 43,000 residents, other residents spread in 8 other regencies / cities in Bali province, others in Banyuwangi and Lombok." The refugees have also been given extraordinary facilities, "Sumatri said.

In addition, from 78 villages located in Karangasem District, only 28 villages were affected. "50 Other villages, safe," he said.

Previously, DWP Ministry of ESDM also directly observed Gunung Agung Observation Post in Rendang Village, Karangasem Regency. During the visit, DWP also saw firsthand the condition of Gunung Agung and the process of observing the Great Volcano. In addition, DWP also provides food, including self-made food, to the great volcano observers.
