KARANGASEM - Status 8 (eight) oil and gas blocks whose contract expires in 2018 get certainty. Previously, the 8 blocks of oil and gas have been offered by the Government to Pertamina to be managed. This was conveyed by the Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Arcandra Tahar after the meeting led by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources led by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ignatius Jonan at Volcano Observation Post, Rendang, Karangasem, Bali (2/1).

"If we look at the history, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has sent a letter to Pertamina to give the 8 blocks of oil and gas to Pertamina. But in the course of time, Pertamina evaluates, there are 2 blocks that are handed back to the Government, "said Arcandra.

Two blocks or Working Area (WK) in question is Attaka and East Kalimantan. Against these two blocks will be an open auction. "Now the preparation of its tender documents, Terms and Conditions contracts and so on. In March will be announced who the winner ", added Ego Syahrial, Acting Director General of Oil and Gas.

Furthermore, against the other 6 blocks of oil and gas, the opportunity is given to the existing contractor to make an offer to the Government. "The offer from the existing contractors we have received. Two blocks will be given to Pertamina, and 4 will be evaluated, "explained Wamen Arcandra.

The two oil and gas blocks to be provided by Pertamina are Central Block and North Sumatera Offshore Block (NSO). "Central Block because it is a unitization with Mahakam Block, it is more efficiently managed by Pertamina. While the NSO Block, as long as it is Pertamina that manages, will be combined with NSB Block (North Sumatra B) which is located adjacent, "added Ego Syahrial.

The other four oil and gas blocks, Tuban Block, Ogan Komering Block, Sanga-Sanga Block and South East Sumatera Block are evaluated with 2 criteria. "First work and which program is better. The second one, which gives better government take, "explained Wamen Arcandra.

If Pertamina's offer gives better return or yield, Pertamina will get the block. However, if the existing contractor proposes a better offer from Pertamina, Pertamina is given the right to equalize the bid from the existing contractor (right to match).

"There is our sincerity to advance Pertamina as NOC (National Oil Company). For these 4 blocks of oil and gas, the time we are targeting this January is completed, to whom will be submitted the block," added Arcandra.
