Minister Arifin: Speed, Creativity, and Innovation are Keys

Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR), today, Friday (29/11) holds the 48th Anniversary of Employees Corps of Republic of Indonesia (KORPRI). Minister of EMR Arifin Tasrif, who is the inspector of the ceremony, says that the current competition between countries is increasingly fierce, while trade war is escalating over investment, market, and technologies. To face this condition, Arifin says that we have make breakthroughs and find new ways in dealing with things.

"Speed, creativity, and innovation are keys. Old, monotonous, uncompetitive methods can no longer be used," he said, reciting the remarks of President of Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo for the 48th Anniversary of KORPRI.

All members of KORPRI, continues Arifin, must keep on creating innovation to speed up public service. Bureaucratic red tape that confuse people must immediately cut off. "No more old-fashioned mindset, linear work, and routine work. Bureaucracy must change and we must build new values by working fast and adapting to changes," he added.

Minister of EMR reminds ceremony participants that bureaucracy has the duties to ensure the public are well served, development programs are really delivered, and the benefits of development programs are enjoyed by all. In addition, he urges KORPRI members to stand in the front line of the nation's unity. "I ask all members of KORPRI throughout Indonesia to stand in the front line of our nation's unity, to maintain the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood with our fellow citizens," Arifin ended. (IY)
