Construction of Prabumulih City Gas System Reaches 38,650 SR

PRABUMULIH - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) Ignasius Jonan surveyed the infrastructure of gas systems (jargas) in Prabumulih City, South Sumatra, Thursday (6/7). In this visit, Jonan confirmed that up to now there are 38,650 house connections (SR) built since 2012. "Of the total connection of the house, there are 34,603 SR or 89.52% which has been flowed by gas from PT Pertamina EP Aset 2 Prabumulih," says Jonan.

The construction of 38,650 SR of jargas in Prabumulih City was implemented in three schemes, namely:

1. The jargas of government assignment budgeted in the State Budget (APBN FY) 2012 are 4,650 SR. The jargas have been built in 2012 and started operations on July 20, 2013.

2. Jargas of government assignment Government Budget APBN FY 2016 as much as 32,000 SR with budget of Rp 493,6 billion. The infrastructure of the jargas was built in 2016 and has been in operation since October 29, 2016.

3. Jargas development investment of PT Pertamina (Persero) in 2015-2016 as much as 2,000 SR with an investment of Rp 30 billion, which was built in 2016 and first operated on January 17, 2017.

In 2017, the EMR Ministry targets to build 59,809 SR spread across 9 cities/districts throughout Indonesia.

Development of jargas is one of the main priorities of the direction of President of Indonesia Joko Widodo. Development in any form is directed to extraordinary equity. The priorities for simple homes, simple towers, and areas that require far more savings.

The domestic gas pipeline program is part of a national priority program. The government is committed to providing cheap and environmentally friendly energy sources for people as well as conversion of Oil Fuel (BBM) to Fuel Gas (BBG).

Jargas itself has several advantages compared to LPG in the tube, among others:

1. Save Expenses, jargas customers are happy with the energy-efficient price because Natural Gas is a primary energy at competitive prices;

2. No storage is needed because the jargas are distributed to customers through pipes where pipes are one of the most stable means;

3. Reliable, Pertamina through PT Pertagas Niaga has an advantage in gas supply through exploration and production of Pertamina EP assets 2;

4. Safe because gas is given a smell that will detect leakage;

5. Low Maintenance cost

6. Environmentally friendly (NA)
