Minister Arifin Instructs New Director to Watch DMO and Increase Coal Innovations

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) Arifin Tasrif, today, Monday (25/11), installs two officials, namely Sujatmiko as Director of Coal Business Fostering of Directorate General Mineral and Coal, and Teuku Mohamad Faisal as Head of Aceh Upstream Oil and Gas Management Agency (BPMA).

"Congratulation on your installation. I hope you'll be able to carry out this mandate well, and to do and complete the duties and responsibility assigned to you fast, fastidiously, and productively," said Arifin in his speech.

Arifin appoints Sujatmiko to immediately fix up coal companies, especially related to company licensing and obligation to meet the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO), and to promote coal usage through innovation.

"I've assigned Mr. Sujatmiko to immediately fix up coal companies, especially related to company licensing and DMO obligation. I also expects that domestic usage of coal is promoted through various innovations, for example, to use coal as alternative fuel in addition to LPG or Dimethyl Ether (DME)," he said.

At the end of his speech, Arifin also recalls there are a number of strategic programs of the EMR sector requiring attention from the stakeholders in the EMR sector.

"Currently, a number of strategic programs of the energy and mineral resources sector require our concentration and joint hard work, for example, to support the completion of the development and construction of 6 refineries, to realize the national electrification ratio target to 100%, to ensure B30 program runs smoothly, to promote and ensure smelter construction runs well," he ended.
